opposite column 1 of w. stylobate. Handful of nondescript sherds from sieve which I have thrown out. No other finds. Removed same area but east of early wall only 2529-3, loose reddish brown soil with many stones averaging [fraction: 1/2] foot size to egg size, a great many - some of them may once have belonged to early wall xm which appears to be partly demolished on east side where there is no proper face. See Film 151-15. About 1/8 bucket sherds. 9 tile frags. which I am stacking under column. From sieve comes also about 1/8 bucket sherds. No other finds. Removed same area w. of early wall. p. 2529-4, yellowish brown soil, few rough stones averaging from egg to [fraction: 1/2] egg size, about 1/5 bucket sherds, about [fraction: 1/2] bucket tiles which I am stacking on bedrock at about 3.00 m. south of n. wall, 1 figurine of animal placed with sherds. 2 blown glass frags. animal bone and 1 small one placed with sherds. 2 tile frags. also placed with sherds. No other finds. See Film 157-18 & 19. Removed south side room 3, S. Bldg., p. 2513-6, a stratum varying in color with many rough stones throughout varying in size from egg size to foot size. At top of strat. there was a white fill of about 0.06 m. from which removed 1/10 bucket sherds marked "white fill" From lower fill down to bedrock removed about 1/6 bucket sherds and from sieve about [fraction: 1/4] bucket (more from sieve!) 7 Mar.51. Removed room 5, w. side, 5.40-11.55 m. north of s. wall, p. 2523- 4 e, east of early wall down to bedrock; loose reddish brown soil only few stones, rough ones, largest not more than [fraction: 1/2] egg size - 1/5 bucket sherds

No tiles. From sieve handful of sherds & coin F 1641. 5 figurine frags. in sherd bag (not sieve). No other finds. Removed corridor 4, 2517-3, 0.27-1.07 m. s. of n. wall, light reddish fairly compact soil 2 or 3 stones about foot size but others not larger than egg size, few only. 5 small sherds only - 1 ribbed sherd found in water conduit. See Film 151-25. Very odd that ribbed sherd should be found here. The conduit went out of use when north wall of building was constructed in 101 A.D. It could hardly have remained uncovered after that date but would have been filled up to a level at least as high as the top of the conduit. A floor was found here consisting of lime concrete - damaged - but its remains seemed consistently spread over the north end of the corridor. One would have supposed it dated to 101 A.D. but the
