… to 3/5 bucket size, and fair number small stones; about 1/3 bucket sherds and 15 tile frags. which I am placing in bag to be stored. Ter. lamp frags. of type with pinched lip (Saucer type) F 1623. Removed portico opposite room 4, center, between north wall and early wall that was demolished before pavement was laid, P. 2557-2, darkish brown soil moderately loose, few stones, averaging egg size, all rough ones, about 1/3 bucket sherds, no tiles, 2 handles of pots with incised characters. F 1621 and two nozzles of ter. lamps - pre-Roman F 1622. No other finds. See film 150-35. Placed another plinth under col. 4, room 3, w. stylobate and set up column again in more accurate position, at 0.32 plus 0.27m. w. of e. face of w. stylobate wall and at 2.48 plus 2.42 plus 2.42 south of north wall. Removed from among stones forming foundation offloor of portico opposite room 4 center and east side 2551-2 handful of sherds & 5 nondescript tile frags. which I have thrown out, and pot handle with incised character - F 1624. Removed same area north of early wall that was demolished when floor was laid 2551-1(a) loose brown soil, few

Removed room 3, s.e. corner, 2533-6, loose reddish soil with many rough stones averaging from fist to nearly foot size, about 1/3 bucket sherds, 3 tile frags. which I am placing in sherd bag. 1 pot handle with incised character - No other finds. 2 March 51. Removed room 5, west side, 5.40-11.55 m. n. of s. wall, 2523- 2(b) between stylobate and early wall, loose reddish soil, very few stones, all rough ones averaging 1/2 egg size. 2 handfuls of sherds & 3 tile frags. which I have placed in sherd bag. No other finds. From sieve come small handful sherds only

Page 2563 Removed portico, opposite room 4, center & e. side, north of early wall, P. 2557 - 1(b) loose reddish brown soil, few stones only, rough ones, averaging 1/2 egg size. About 1/4 bucket sherds, about 1/4 bucket tiles which I am placing in bag - to be cleaned & stored. Some thin blown glassfrags. F 1627, pot handle with incised Cypriot character F 1628 and ter. figurine frags. F 1629. No other finds. Film 151-1. Removed same area portico but s. of early wall & n. of area where foundation for floor is extant, P. 2551-3, dark reddish soil, very few stones, all rough ones, averaging egg size but up to fist size. About 1/4 bucket sherds, 3 tile frags. which I am placing in sherd bag. 1 pot handle with incised character F 1631. From sieve about 1/6 bucket sherds. No other finds. Film 151-3 & 4.

Page 2564 3 March 51. Removed room 3, s.e. corner, P. 2533-7, loose reddish brown soil very few stones, about 6 of any size, varying from egg. to foot size. Small handful sherds only. No tiles. Nothing found in sieve. Removed portico opposite center & e. side of room 24, and between early wall & foundation of paved floor, P. 25x51-4, small handful sherds only, down to bedrock, fairly compact red soil with many small stones, largest being egg size. From here partly in 2551-4 and partly under under foundation of paved floor that once covered area came bronze F 1632. See Film 151-5.

5 Mar.51._ Removed S. Bldg., room 5, s. side, 2513-5, down to point where fill whitens everywhere with chavara, dark reddish soil, loose, many rough stones averaging 1/2 egg size with some up to fist size. About 1/3 bucket sherds, 1 pipe frag. placed with sherds, and

From sieve over 1/2 bucket sherds & stamped handle F 1634 and frag. saucer type lamp F 1635. Am storing tiles on foundation of s. wall
