Have set up also column drum 234 at 2.4512 east of s.w. corner (point where 2 engaged half columns meet). See Film 141-13 and 14, and 15. See also draughtsman's plan showing position and indicatng level of drums removed before setting up. Bottom of this drum measures 43.5 - not a lower drum therefore, but am setting it up here to indicate the intercolumniation until a better place can be found for it. The 2nd column from s.e. corner, drum 235 (see above) undoubted belongs where I have set it up. Have set up 236 at 7.3512 m. from meeting point of 2 engaged half columns at s.w. corner. See Film 141-16 & 17. Have also set up column found fallen opposite entrance to room 1, on west stylobate at half the distance between the meeting point of the two engaged half columns on the s.w. corner and the column drum found in

situ at 5.85 m. north of it (center to meeting point of engaged half columns). Half of this distance is the computed intercolmniation: 2.9112 m. The drum was found in debris in portico at this point and the stylobate at this point looked as though a column stood over the center of this point. See Film 141- 6, 7, & 8. There is no doubt but that this drum stood over this point. It is not clear yet why the intercol. in here opposite room 1 is greater than that of south stylobate. The intercolumniation reverts to 2.45 north of the entrance to room 2 to the n.w. corner.

Temple A, e. cella, w. aisle aisle, N 8-14, 1973-2, reddish loose soil with great quantity of rough stones for which see Film 141-9 and 10. Removed 112 buckets of sherds and about 12\bucket tiles and a few pipe frags. placed with them. I have stacked this at N 13.00 on top of the west wall of aisle.

Strat. p. 1973-2 I level off at depth of about 0.05 m. below top of what appears to have been foundation course of west wall of aisle. The orthostates on this wall seem far too good not to have once appeared over original floor level. If this is true then the original floor was raised at a later period. Found also here coin F 1120 and F 1121, frags. of saucer type lamp with pinched lip, one bronze nail & metal frags. placed with sherds in bag (in box), and a small marble frag. F1127 (or 1122?).

30 May30 May May 50. Removed Temple A, w. cella, west aisle, N 0-5, 1941-3, 2019-3. white stratum consisting mainly of crushed skandstone "chavara", few sherds only placed in box, no tiles or other finds. Also N 5-8 - same. Placed sherds also in box. No tiles or other finds. No stones found in 3. Sieved the stratum and found 2 handfuls of sherds & few tile frags. All in the bag, and F 1125.

30 May50. Removed S.E. Bldg. room 1, portico, p. 2043-3, very loose soil, much probably fallen from fallen roof & decomposed bldg. matter, soil darker at top but redder as one dug deeper, many rough stones for which see Film 141- about 1/3 bucket of sherds (this is in area only between fallen door jambs. See Film 141-21,22) and about 2 wheel barrow loads of roof tiles. No other finds save for complete marble shield like cover F 1128 lying directly on 2043-4 (See Film 141-21). The top of 4 appears to have served as a ground level after the stone pavement was removed. Fewnsherds on floor (on 2043-4) placed in separate bag marked "floor". For stones from 2043-3 see Film 141-25.

Temple A, w. cella, e. aisle, N 8-13, 2025-1, dull brown soil, loose, not many stones, rough ones only for which see Film 141-26. About 1/3 bucket sherds 5 tile frags placed on east wall of aisle at 10.00 N and one smallstone with moulding.

Removed also same aisle, N 4.80 - 8.00, 2021-2, dark (dull brown) loose soil from 4.80-10.00, am placing therefore all sherds from 4.80-10.00 in strat. 2 2021-2, 2023-2, together. North of 10, strat. 2 earth is reddish. Many rough stones 2021-2, N 4.80- 10. About 1 bucket of sherds and about ^12\bucket of tiles which I am placing on east wall of aisle at 6.50 North. Have placed with them 2 small pieces of cornice and 2 other stone blocks on same stone of east wall. Sieved N 4.80-10.00, 2021-2, about 1/3 bucket of sherds, 1 small
