the same level which bond this arm, of the west stylobate wall into the west wall. This stone extends up to the north face of the stylobate wall where it meets the paved floor (Film 168 ) It would seem accordingly that the west arm of the stylobate is as early as the west wall of the exedra and is not a later modification in plan. The second step really the only proper step brings one up to a floor in lime concrete at level plus 0.13 m. or 0.22 m. below the top of the second step in the corresponding ing east stairway. Lime concrete covers most of the step as well as of the riser and the flashing end of the orthostate. The lime concrete of the floor extends over the west arm of the west stylobate wall as far north as 0.05 m. from the back of the orthostate and as far east as the west face of the main west stylobate wall, some of the floor extending 0.01 to 0.02 m. over the topmost edge of the wall here. The level of the floor is approximately the same wherever extent north of the threshold block. This block stands in a wall which extends from the west wall to the west stylobate wall. Only the top has been cleared and this is in rubble. A lime concrete floor exactly like the one north of of this block extends south of it up to a line at 12.80 m. north of the south face of the south wall (see below p. 11 under floors). It extends here also as far east as the west stylobate wall and as far west as the west wall. Its level south of the threshold block is everywhere the same as that of the tread of the threshold block and the floor to the south of it at plus 0.13 m. At a distance of 0.40 m. west of the west face of the west stylobate wall, however, it slopes consistently upward to reach level plus 0.25 m. at the west face of the stylobate wall. This level is 0.08 m. below the extant top of a plinth in situ at 14.50 m. north of the south face of the south wall a plinth which is at its original level of plus 0.33 m. As the course of coping blocks was approximately 0.20 m. below the top of this course. (Film would have been 0.28 m. below the top of this course. (Film
