December 6, 1982Dear David:

A quickie. And I need a quickie response

About the 650.00 requested in Oct., 1979, and approved in April, 1980:

Draughtsman's stipend supplement 250.00 Xeroxing 35.00 Photography supplies & services 125.00 Maintenance at Kourion 125.00 Car rental & gas 100.00 Research supplies 25.00 Total 650.00

If you actually expended these amounts yourself and would like to be reimbursed for them you should supply us with appropriate receipts for your expenditures. Otherwise I expect the fund would have to lapse. I presume your request was for summer, 1980.

About the 525.00 you now request:

I really do not fully understand this. I understood that you were coming down April 12 (not 28) on an AIA tour, for which I would assume your expenses would be paid by the AIA.

At any rate, I could not apply for funds for anything except expenses in connection with your actual project. It seems to me that in your total figure there is a good deal which has nothing to do with the project. If this is so, please supply me with a reduced figure which pertains to your project only.

The time is actually past for putting in a request for a budget for 1983 but if you let me know speedily, at once, I can perhaps still get your request in.

I would think that the one day you budget for visiting us would be far too little for the purposes you outline. About the photo archives, I have looked over the list of prints I sent you. It is enormous: surely you must have a print of everything pertinent. I know I spent a great deal of time hunting them out.

Sincerely,

Handwritten: Roger
