Dear Roger:

We made it. Got here without event and have now been through most of the waiting mail, including yours of the 3rd. I hasten to say that I do not have any Bamboula negatives other than the 2 rolls of 35mm. which I took in 1951; I'll be using a number of these shots in the illustrations and I can send you the negatives for the files when I have finished with them. I'll just have to get along with what I have, including the VG-1941 shots which I also found waiting here. Thanks much for them and for the xeroxes of the notebooks.

I have checked and the plans are all here, and so I think that I am now ready to do a final revision of the text, get the plans brought up to date and make the final selection of illustrations. I enclose the final pages of the ms., which I wrote in Athens, so that you can have a complete copy of the text in its present form. If you have any further suggestions for things to be included, please let me know soon so that I can incorporate them in the final version. I even managed to get an extra copy of Benson's Kourion-Bamboula that was in the library at the ASCS, so now perhaps I can give catalogue nos. for the objects mentioned in the text. I should be able to start work on this soon, I hope.

Good to have had a glimpse of you in Princeton; sorry there was not more time to talk. All the best.

Yours,
