October 3, 1978Dear Saul:

It was good to see you on Sunday. You seemed flourishing.

There are two enclosures here which I have been saving uhtil you returned to Missouri. One is a film list for a film I came across in my researches made by VG. Perhaps it will be of interest to you in planning your illustrations.

The second enclosure is not so good: missing negatives. I really tackled the Bamboula negative problem broadside this summer and catalogued for the Museum's negative room all that I could possibly lay my hands on. So I am sure the missing negatives are not here, wherever they may be. The list serves a twofold purpose. One, so that you will know what we do not have negatives for in planning your illustrations. The other purpose is to enquire if by any possible chance you may have these negatives in Missouri. You said you had the original drawings so I derive faint hope from that that you may have negatives also. Not much of a hope but while there's life there's ... , as they say.

I trust you are gradually accustoming yourself to less exotic surroundings -

Good greetings -
