April 12, 1978Dear Peter:

Recently I have had a discussion of our Kourion projects with Martin Biddle, your countryman and the new Director of our Museum. I am glad to report to you that he is very eager to forward our publications and I am sure he is prepared to be both sympathetic and helpful. He wanted particularly to have me tell our authors that he plans to publish Museum undertakings in a Museum series. I do not know what the format might be but would hope it would be better than the UM monograph series of earlier years.

I do not know your present state as to the Basilica. You have always been very self-sufficient. But I would think if you felt the need of assistance that a letter to Martin would be sympathetically received. As to the publication, which I suppose is not too far off (I heard not long ago that you planned on only "one more season") you may well have perhaps more elegant outlets in mind than we might aspire to. But on that you could consult Martin.

I note in your last letter of June, 1975, that you mention a Susan Young who was studying "the Christian Floor Mosaics of Cyprus." Since then we have arranged for a young man named David Rupp to publish the Eustolios mosaics. I think he will do very well indeed. If you are in touch with Susan perhaps you would be so kind as to give her David's address? So that they could communicate to their mutual benefit? It is:

With warm regards to you and Electra -

Sincerely,
