March 22, 1977Dear Mr. Michaelides:

I am glad to hear that you had a chance to talk with Dr. Karageorghis in person. Person-to-person is always so much better than by letter.

The suggestion for a joint publication of the Kourion mosaics we would have to think about. First, it could only be done if Dr. Rupp were willing, not otherwise. I do not know how he may feel. Secondly, from the point of view of the Museum's sponsorship, we would need to know more about you. To date I have no information as to your training, qualifications etc. Perhaps you would be willing to send Dr. Rupp and me each a copy of your full Curriculum Vitae?

A third matter concerns the format of the publication. I understand that your work embraces all the mosaics of Cyprus. Ours, of course, would be confined to the mosaics of Kourion and the architecture of the "Palace." I think it would have to remain with that scope because of our responsibilities for publishing the Kourion excavations and because of considerations of the expense of publication.

This is all I think of at the moment. If I think of other topics for consideration I will write again. In the meantime I am sending a copy of this letter to Dr. Rupp and Dr. Karageorghis.

Sincerely yours,
