February 19, 1977Dear Vassos:

Thank you for the two letters, one to me and one a copy of yours to Michaelides. I am most grateful for them and for your wisdom and good sense.

I have sent copies of both letters to David Rupp. I have suggested that it is up to him to decide. Though at the same time I have expressed the opinion that a joint publication might not be very wise. Although we know nothing about the quality of his thinking we know nothing about the quality of his scholarship. And after all his study is different, i.e. one of all the mosaics of Cyprus. (I hope he has permission from the other sites involved!).

I think it might be better myself for us to go ahead with our publication as we had planned. After it is done he can then do what he wishes on his own.

Best greetings -

G. Roger Edwards
