3/ 5) On the other hand, I am not able to explain the presence of the alignment of stones stretching on 2,50 m. from the Eastern external wall of the tower in direction to the East. Is it related to the defensive system?
6) As much ambiguous are the stones forming a small wall, 3,50 X 1,00 m., running parallel to the circuit wall but at a distance of 7 meters East of it, towards its Southern end. One of the stones has draft edges as on some ones found at Kition. I presume that this wall is to be connected with buildings erected outside the city wall, in the lower part of the city, is not it?
7) I am unable to understand the situation at the extreme Southern end of the city wall. There are two walls, apparently. Are they both dated from the same period? And what is the depression behind the inner wall?
8) Finally, I can not figure where the trench 12, in which were discovered remains of a house of the 16th century, is located?
I would be very much obliged to you if you could be of some help in answering my queries. I am most interested in the settlement of Kamboula not only because I am dealing with it in my thesis, but also because I visited it very often when I was digging with Dr. James Carpenter at the MCIII-LCI settlement of Episkopi, "PHANEROMENI", in 1975-76 (I joined Dr. Carpenter's team as a site supervisor since the excavation at Soloi directed by Monsieur Jean DesGagniers of Université Laval, Québec, and on which I was an assistant in 1974, could not be pursued). Therefore, I would greatly appreciate any information on this site.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
