1) I happen to know that copies of most of the plans drawn during the excavation are kept in the archives of the "Curium Museum", in the Episkopi village. A large one, in particular, shows, in details, the entire circuit wall with the walls of the houses adjacent to it. Could I possibly see, with your permission, those plans and particularly that one? As it is only for a thesis, not for a publication, would you allow me to copy the plan on which the circuit wall appears on its whole length, and include it in my thesis? Naturally I would give all the credit to the original author of the plan.

2) Is there also a section plan of the circuit wall? It is not easy to determine with assurance the width of the wall of fortification from the plans and photos published so far. For instance, on the plan in the AJA 42(1938)p.263(fig.2), the city-wall associated with some Late Cypriote houses of Area A, is quite wide: nearly 5 meters, although the plan seems to show 2 phases. While on the photo in the UMB 7(1939)3, plate IX(pp.16-17), the stage during which the wall was the widest corresponds to level IV, attributed to the Archaic period; the LC citywall which was found in levels VII-V would not be wider than 1,20 meters. A section plan would clarify the situation, I suppose.

3) In several articles, it is question of a large square tower situated where the wall turns towards West on 8,50 meters, before continuing Southwards. But I did not find any mention of the construction just behind it. On plate IIb (p.5) of UMB 8(1940)1, this construction would be on the righthand side, just outside the photograph. Is it part of the tower, or is it something else?

4) I imagine that the gate is to be looked for in the area of the tower. I think I found it between the tower and the construction behind the tower; it would have had the shape of a zig-zag. But there are not any traces on the actual circuit wall. Am I right?
