29th July 1976Dear Roger,

I will be glad to act as an 'arbitrator', but I have not yet heard from Michaelides. When I saw him in Rome at the end of April he was preparing to go to Libya, where he works as a member of the British School at Rome and letters are not easily forwarded to them there. Unless we hear from him we cannot do anything at this stage. But I advised David Rupp, whom I saw to-day, to go ahead with his study. Michaelides is not an unreasonable person and I think we will easily find a compromise.

Be sure that I will do all I can to help.

Yours,
