November 27, 1956Dear Peter:

Many thanks for your two letters of the 17th and enclosure concerning the skeletal material.

As to the graffiti, G 4 is not from a tomb group and could well be substituted. G 28, however, is from Bamboula Tomb 2, so perhaps you could pick another instead of this? Apparently G 28, 39, 60, 59, and 67 are the only ones from Philadelphia tomb groups which need to be excluded from your choice; in addition to G 69 and 71, which have already been discussed.

I will be able to proceed shortly, then, with packing up the material to be returned to you now, i.e., coins and sherds. Have you any special advice to give us about their sending under present circumstances? One imagines a certain amount of risk in Cyriote territorial waters and possible rough handling in customs, of course. Of course we will insure them. I would prefer, however, that you suggest what you would consider a suitable valuation.

With our very best regards -

Sincerely,
