I have found here copies of her manuscript on Trench 43, the originals of her object cards, catalogue cards and original prints of the plates she made up; so that much is recovered.
Fassouri stock: Sir Panayotis has another purchaser on a string who he thinks may give us the price we ask. Should hear in a few days.
Cyprus Airways: Have you any suggestions as to what would be the best way to deal with this thing? Nobody as yet has been found who is willing to buy it, or presumably it is poor record as a dividend payer. The dividend last July was only 5% (a 50 pound dividend to us, its face value being 1000 pounds). Do I wait until July to see if it pays another? One runs the risk of its not paying another, of course, and then we'd be worse off than ever. [handwritten: Your advice will be most welcome.]
I should think that by May we certainly ought to have disposed of the Fassouri, one way or another. The Cyprus Airways is a different matter, and I am sure you are sufficiently aware of its shortcomings so as not to count too heavily in any of our financial exchanges on its potential yield. It is certainly one rabbit we should certainly have by the ears before we light the fire.
I have sent Geraldine a list of the cameras here which I want her to insure on the Museum policy, five in all: two Leicas, one movie camera, 1 Polaroid, and one other (not certainly ours), German, for 8x11 cm. films. One of the Leicas has a special lens, either wideangle or long-distance, I'm not sure which: perhaps Reuben can tell. I sent Geraldine the former; that you from the description. I suspect the former; that would be very useful, if so. There is quite a lot of somewhat elderly Kodachrome movie film which I shall endeavor to use up. Among it I found one complete one which George had exposed but never sent off, and I also found in playing with the camera that there was another in it with 20 feet of the 50 exposed; so I finished that off with shots of Curium bluff. The two I am now sending to Rochester, to be delivered to you when developed. I hope it isn't too late for them to be any good.
We are going to join the Seltmans this weekend in a hiking trip in the Carpass. I hope I can extract an answer from John about the Stillwell sherdllu.
I expect you will be having a busy time in April with the two little bitches. Flower of Spring ought to come in then too, I should think, or maybe in May.
I trust that the pineys are red, white, and blue, respectively, to make the transition easy from water-lillies.
