Dear Rodney:
Another postscript! I have just seen Sir Panyotis who tells me that the buyer I wrote of yesterday for the Passouri stock has agreed to take it at our price. I have given him authority to sell it to him, and probably the sale will be concluded next week. I will cable you when the money has ACTUALLY BEEN PAID OVER, not before.
Now, when I cable you (my cable will read"Passouri funds available") it will mean that approximately £1435-0-0 ($4,018.00) has been paid into our bank account here and is available for Mr. Panyotis passages and for any further dollar transactions you decide to arrange. Our total of pounds then will be £2118-0-0 ($5,930.40), including the sum from the personal account. I will let you know when further pound funds become available, but do not count on any until I do so.
Comprises?
The explanation of what is happening is as follows: We are selling the stock for ca. £2720-0-0, and we are collecting the dividend ourselves, which is an additional ca. £243-0-0 ($7,616.00 plus $680.40. Sir Panyotis feels, however, that until the matter of how our payment of Estate of items from the Estate of (C, page 4) is to be made is settled, he should retain from this sale of stock the equivalent of £285-13-0, so this amount he will keep for the time being, paying over to us from the stock sale only the £1435-0-0 mentioned above. Thus we will have in our account for the moment:
£685-0-0 (GHMcF personal account) £1,435-0-0 part payment, Passouri stock) £2,118-0-0 (= $5,930.00)
When we collect the dividend, the amount of it can be added to this figure. The payment to us here of the remainder due from the Passouri stock will depend on how the Estate decides we should pay for our purchase. I hope this is clear.
