not be granted against the recommendation of the Field Director. Obviously this is a matter which will call for close consultation between you. It is of course understood that you are perfectly free to make such informal communications as you may wish to the press, without prior notification to us. We expect to use your seasonal reports as sources for non-technical publications and publicity, and assume that you will bear this in mind in submitting them to us. We will consider that you are agreeable to our use of this material for publicity purposes unless you specify to the contrary.

9. The Museum's choice of objects to be retained for our collections is conditioned not only by the intrinsic interest of the objects, but else by the over-all needs of our collection and our facilities for storage and exhibition. We will expect the Curator, in close consultation with you, to make the decision for the Museum in the division of finds. Be will decide, on the basis of the information available to him, what we should attempt to acquire, and will advise you of this for your guidance in negotiating the distribution of finds. We realize that it may not always be possible to secure everything that the Curator has asked for. We assume that in such cases you will advise him of possible alternatives, so that he can indicate a second choice.

10. At least once in each fiscal year it will be necessary, for administrative reasons, for you or your representative to submit to the Museum a proposed budget for the coming season or fiscal year, supported by a statement of the work which the budget is intended to cover.

11. At least once in each fiscal year an accounting of the funds which were placed at your disposal for the immediately preceding period should also be submitted to the Museum.

With great confidence in you and Mr. McFadden, we have every hope that the coming season will be rewarding and that the excellent work at Kourion can be continued at least until the major objectives outlined above have been reached.

Very sincerely,
