Kourion Excavations Episkopi, Limassol Cyprus

Sept. 6, 1947Mr. P. Dikaios Curator Cyprus Museum Nicosia

Dear Dikaios,

I have been a little worried at not hearing from you. You will remember that we agreed that an answer to my covering letter of August 17th regarding the division of the Kaloriziki tombs, and an acknowledgment of the receipt of the Cyprus Museum's share, would be in order. both for your records and ours. I should very much like to have my part in this matter closed and the papers all in good order before the expected arrivals of Mr. Hill and Mr. McFadden. We have also been anticipating that some one from the Cyprus Museum would come to pick up the box of small finds from the Museum's tombs. We have it locked up, we hope safely, but we should appreciate your sending a man to collect it, thus completing the handing over of the tombs allotted to the Museum.

Has Kakoulis finished the photographs Mrs. Young and I asked for? He was so nearly done when we were last in Nicosia that we were encouraged to think we should have them very soon. I should be glad to know what their present status is.

We had a letter from Mr. Hill a day or so ago acknowledging ours announcing the close of packing and the turning-over of the Museum's share. He seemed to think we had done the right thing in going ahead with it, pending final decision on the disposition of the tripod.

I shall anxiously await your answer. With best regards as always to Mrs. Dikaios and "Kore Sylvia",

Sincerely yours,
