30 August 1947Dear John,

Your letter of 22 August reaches me today. I think the matter of the drawings and photographs will be settled when we meet at the Kourion house in the autumn, and I would be glad to have the object cards brought up to date before then.

The news from the Kourion Complex is encouraging. The sherds from the stadium trench have been numbered and I enclose a copy of the list: Sh 1268 to Sh 1301, all from the stratum above the mosaic floor. We have not yet been able to assign the lamps L 781 and L 784 to a context.

As to the coins, the Department has asked that they be sent with the tomb register, and I have written to Mr. [handwritten: Papadopoulos] to ask whether he can spare a man for the carriage to Limassol.

I am afraid the budget for the season is nearly exhausted. Please do not commit further funds until we have spoken.

With best wishes,
