CURIUM EXCAVATIONS EPISKOPI, LIMASSOL CYPRUS

I made further mention of this in my letter to you of April 16th. With reference to this letter, Mr. Jayne used to send me a copy of the financial report and would recommend, as I asked him to do, a field of the Museum's activities in which a contribution would be particularly welcome. If this procedure is still in order, I'll try and get off a cheque to you by return mail as soon as I hear from you. The fact that we are already in a new tax year may mean than I can afford to give more, as I had already passed the fifteen percent allowed for deductions for 1946. Mr. Jayne's last recommendation was, as I remember, for publication, but later he wrote me as king me whether I would give my consent to its going as a stipent to Mr. Daniel to make possible his continuing h is association with the Museum as Assistant Curator in the Mediterranean section.[handwritten: at a time] When it was impossible for him to return to work toward the publication of his sites here. To this, of course, I agreed.

I am enclosing herewith a cheque to the amount of $2,000.00, one thousand to be credited to [handwritten: the] Youngs account as per your letter of December 12th, and one thousand to be sent to the Ottoman Bank at Limassol with instructions that it be credited to the account of Curium Excavations.
