July 31, 1946Dear Mr. McFadden:

Thanks for your letter of July sixteenth and the check for one thousand dollars.

This letter crossed in the mail with one I wrote you after receiving your letter of July fourth.

In that letter I said we were sending two thousand dollars to the Ottoman Bank and we gave instructions about the money to the treasurer of the University of Pennsylvania.

It will therefore be entirely in order to draw the check for two thousand dollars mentioned in your letter of July 16.

Looking forward to seeing you in September.

Yours very sincerely,
