G.H.McF.

I have been to Kourion since I began this letter and checked up on the stakes. The following represent the government cement posts that they placed where there was no stake of yours; 23, 22, 16, 15, 14, 11, 7, 27, S (on the road) and I (on the road). The government post 13 was placed about two metres away from yours, apparantly because they did not want to put it right up against the carob tree. [handwritten: They] failed to put any cement post where your mark 26 is. Morphites is to fill the trenches on his lot and has signed a statement renouncing any claim to rent or to damages incurred for the future. The tents arrived two weeks ago.

Handwritten: Yours, George
