But in spite of our disagreement on archaeological matters I find him very pleasant. He is not one of those who feel that an archaeological difference must be a personal one as well. It is possible to disagree and still be f be friendly. He is extremely bitter about Dikaios, incidentally.
I discussed the Roman pottery with Westholm in a very general way. He gave me a copy of his book on the temples of Soli, which are not appearing in the big publication. The notes on the pottery are useless, but his work on the Cypriote temple type and the Cyprio- Roman sculpture impresses me as excellent. It is quite the most readable, and I think the most scholarly, of the Swedish Cyprus publications.

My trip has been on the whole a very pleasant one, and I got interesting material in Munich, Berlin, & Copenhagen. I ran into the Broneers in Munich and saw a good deal of them. Broneer was much impressed by the Tarsus finds. Gjerstad was distressed by them.
If you recieve this before you leave for America (and as I remember you will) could you give me an introduction to Wace? I am very anxious to discuss this work with him and to ask his opinion of the Tarsus material.
I will try to write from London again, and tell you more of my progress. So far I am well pleased with what I have found.
With best wishes, Pete
