Dear Mr. Jayne,

I suppose you have wondered what has become of the Cyprus Expedition. I should have written you sooner but was anxious to have photographs to make my account of our excavations clearer. I had our films printed at Athens en route home and am bringing them with me. Had I sent them they would probably arrived after I did. I have, however, had the drawings made by Miss Coxe sent to the University Museum and these you may already have received. I am bringing with me, too, the inscribed sherds belonging to the same water jar as found by Cesnola and now in the Metropolitan Museum. I imagine Mrs. Doan will be very interested to see these.

Our Autumn campaign ended a little before Christmas but I stayed on at Cyprus until the middle of January, as there was a good deal of work to be done before we could all leave. We had no regular campaign this Spring but Mr. Hill let me return to do some digging on my own and to finish the clearing of one of the building in the Sanctuary of Apollo. I was there two months during which Mr. Hill came down for two weeks to see my work and to negotiate for the purchase of land.

As I will see you so soon I am not giving you a full account of our excavations but will write you one of course,
