PANAYOTIS L. CACOYANNIS ADVOCATE LIMASSOL, CYPRUS.

Limassol [handwritten: 13th May 1936] P. O. Box No 122.

Dr. B.H.Hill 9 Plutarch street Athens

Dear Dr. Hill

I have the pleasure in acknowledging receipt of your letter of 24th ultimo with enclosures.

2. With regard to the acquisition by the Government of part of the site of Curium for the purpose of excavation by the University under your direction I beg to inform you that I have seen the Commissioner of Limassol who will grant me an interview on this subject within the next two or three days with the object to discuss together the whole question of such acquisition.

3. Mr. McFadden paid to me by cheque on the Ottoman Bank Limassol £23.10. 0. for the settlement of the rent due to Messrs Chrysostomides up to the 23 August next viz: £16. 0. 0. and for the payment to Messrs Chrysostomides of six months rent in advance as from the 24th August 1936 if they wish to renew the lease on the terms contained in your letter to me dated 10th April 1936.

I addressed on the 30th April 1936 a letter to Messrs Chrysostomides calling upon them to come and receive the rent due. Mr. Zenon Chrysostomides received his share, viz £8. 0. 0. in full settlement and expect Mr. Evagoras Chrysostomides will receive his share within the next three or four days as he himself stated to me.

I shall do my best to persuade Messrs Chrysostomides to renew the lease. Mr. Zenon Chrysostomides is quite willing to do so but Mr. Evagoras Chrysostomides brings as usual certain difficulties very probably because he wants to get some more rent.

Yours sincerely
