My dear Dr. Jayne:
Last February I was approached by Mr. Julian H. Whittlesey of 420 Madison Avenue, N. Y. C. in reference to a position as a surveyorarchitect with the Cyprus expedition. For various reasons I was unable to accept it for this last spring season, but as I told Mr. Whittlesey H was willing to consider such an appointment for future seasons. All this has been communicated to you by him in his letter of February 21st last.
As I am seriously considering establishing myself in Athens, I would like very much to add to my regular practice there such seasonal work as I could get with the various archaeological expeditions out there. The first, however, will somewhat depend on the latter.
As Mr. Whittlesey gave me to understand, I believe I can satisfactorily do such work. If I may be permitted, I like to add here that I am a graduate of Columbia College and of the School of Architecture, I have worked for several years with architects in this State and have a long first hand acquaintance with living conditions in Greece and near by countries. Professor Dinsmoor of the School of Architecture of Columbia may supply you, if necessary, with further information regarding me.
If you think I can answer your requirements, I shall appreciate an answer with particulars.
Very Sincerely yours,
