English, as on the record

Major General Sir Matthew William Edward Gosset entered the army in 1856, fought in Egypt, Burma, India the Zulu and Boer war and travelled extensively in the Middle East 1870-1892. His watercolours come from an album which he compiled of scenes from India, the Middle East and Scotland between 1873 and1891. This is a view of the castle of Kyrenia, one of the most popular sites with artists. Nine people are taking a stroll around the castle while a fisherman sits in his boat peacefully getting on with his chore.
