Description

The frame is filled by the large face of a woman with dark eyes, a narrow nose and a veil edged in dark tesserae. To the right a smaller face with a gold-edged halo appears against a warm brown ground of mixed stones. The small cubes of the mosaic are clearly visible across the surfaces.
