Cypern – motsättningarnas ö ("Cyprus, the island of contrasts"; Gothenburg 1974) is the Swedish catalogue of an exhibition of Cypriot antiquities held at the Röhsska Museum of Decorative Arts in Gothenburg from 20 October 1974 to 6 January 1975, published by Paul Åström as the first pocket-book of the series Studies in Mediterranean Archaeology. The organisers were the Gothenburg Archaeological Museum, the University of Gothenburg and the Röhsska Museum, in collaboration with the Medelhavsmuseet in Stockholm.

In her foreword Lili Kaelas explains that loans from the Pierides Archaeological Museum in Larnaca were planned but could not travel after the events of summer 1974, and that the Medelhavsmuseet replaced them from its own collections. The exhibition set out to show how the island's copper and its position shaped its history.

The book contains Åström's cultural- and art-historical sketch of Cyprus, his chapter on Swedes in Cyprus, a chronological table, a glossary, the catalogue of the exhibits, a bibliography, a map and the illustrations. The text is in Swedish; the Archive gives our English translation beside it.
