Veronica Conkling
fl. 1990–1995
Expedition member and draughtsman, active 1990–1995. Excavated at Polis-Maratheri. Worked with William A. P. Childs.
Life and work
- c. 1995While drawing the Marion city wall in Area A.H9 at Polis-Maratheri she noticed fragments of stone sculpture built into it; two small test trenches were cut in the wall and yielded terracotta and stone sculptures, including the draped-woman statuette (cat. no. 77). Date inferred from the figure caption 'Cutting through city wall ... 1995'; the text does not date her observation.
