    A white marble pedestal built upside down into the wall of 'Hadji Themistokles' house' bore an inscription, 'well-cut but extremely faint, being worn almost smooth'. The 1888 explorers copied it; Dr. Oberhümmer had tried it unsuccessfully (Abhandl. der Münch. Akad. der Wissenschaften, 1888) and it had not been copied previously.
