According to the gallery, Venanzio and Alfredo Turchi founded the Galleria Turchi on Via Margutta in Rome in 19602. Earlier generations handled archaeological objects and Italian Renaissance sculpture2.
Valerio Turchi, the third generation, has run it since 1992 and now deals only in Greek and Roman sculpture2,3. The Associazione Antiquari d'Italia profile records his acquisition in 2013 or 2014 of an Attic female figure identified as a Nike of about 430 BC3. He is listed as an exhibitor at a London art fair4. The gallery says it also shows at fairs in Florence and Rome and works with the Rome archaeological superintendency2.
