About

TimeLine Auctions grew out of an online dealing business, TimeLine Originals, which Brett Hammond started in the 1990s after collecting coins and antiquities as a young man; in late 2009 he launched the auction house as its chief executive, according to the house4. Companies House records the company as incorporated on 8 April 2009 in Harwich, Essex, with Brett Hammond as sole director3. The first sale took place in March 20104.

Brett Hammond runs the house with Aaron Hammond, its chief operating officer and a member of the Antiquities Dealers' Association. A sister gallery, Timeline Exclusive Ltd, appears on the association's members' page2,5,6. Tim Wonnacott, a chartered auctioneer, gives video commentaries on the sales8. The house moved from Brentwood to Harwich and has sold in Bloomsbury and Mayfair in London2.

In April 2016 it joined with Gregory, Bottley & Lloyd, a dealership it dates to 18581. acsearch lists between 2,200 and 4,800 lots per sale from 2015 to 20237. Timeline Exclusive's own listings include a Cypriot bichrome jug5.
