History

  1. 1892
After Samuel Brown junior died intestate in 1891, administration of his personal estate (valued at over 5000 pounds) was entrusted by the High Court in 1892 to his youngest brother William Henry Brown, described as a manager for Speyer Brothers, 7 Lothbury, City of London. The only link to Cypriot antiquities is that Samuel Brown had collected Cypriote and Egyptian objects; Kiely and Merrillees say what became of his collection (13 cases exported in 1889) is unknown.
