History
- 1878–1890Colonel Falkland Warren, a Royal Artillery officer, served in Cyprus from 1878 (Assistant Commissioner Larnaca, then Commissioner of Limassol, Chief Secretary from 1 August 1879) and, while administering the antiquities rules, had Max Ohnefalsch-Richter dig for him at Kourion, Politiko-Alakati, Ayia Paraskevi and Tamassos-Frangissa. He was serving as colonial official, not as an artillery officer, on the island.
