History
- 1857The Acquisitions Journal of the Imperial and Royal Coin and Antiquities Collection records, in the first quarter of 1857, purchases by a Mechitarist priest named Dovnik, who probably visited Cyprus on his way back from the Holy Land, for 80 florins: 24 small limestone sculptures and a clay figure (cat. 85, 88, 94, 95). The catalogue calls this the first acquisition of Cypriot antiquities for the Vienna collection.
