David Aaron Ltd

David Aaron Ltd is a Mayfair gallery whose own history begins in Isfahan in 1910. According to the gallery, Soleiman Haroon founded the business there, first in Persian and Islamic art, opened a branch in Alexandria in the late 1920s, and moved to Tehran in the 1950s². In 1981 his sons David and Manoucher Aaron moved operations to Bruton Street in London as Aaron Gallery. David Aaron founded David Aaron Ltd at Berkeley Square in 1997, widening the stock to Classical, Egyptian and Near Eastern antiquities². The home page gives 1980 and 1998 for the same two steps, and describes the firm as run by the third and fourth generations of the family¹.

Today the gallery handles Classical, Egyptian, Near Eastern and Islamic antiquities and natural history¹. It names the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Aga Khan Museum, the David Collection, the Glyptothek in Munich and the Corning Museum of Glass among its museum clients^1,2.

TEFAF and the Antiquities Dealers' Association both list the firm^3,4. It is also a member of IADAA and shows at TEFAF and Frieze Masters¹.
