First phase of soundings around the ruined apse of the church of Prophet Elias: foundations of a single-nave timber-roofed early Christian basilica, about 19 m long, with a polygonal apse (3 x 8 m), floor sub-layers, synthronon and parapet foundations, two cross walls on the north side, and remains to the south. Traces of fire interpreted as the destruction. Scant finds (mostly tiles and sherds) dated IVth-VIIth c. AD. Identified tentatively as the katholikon of a monastic establishment.
