The project
In 1975 a Cypro-Classical tomb was excavated in the village of Xylotymbou, in a rescue by the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus1. It contained ordinary Plain White pottery and a faience flask, 8.6 cm high, decorated with blue glaze and black paint1. V. Karageorghis reported the tomb in his Chronique des fouilles et découvertes archéologiques à Chypre en 1975, in the Bulletin de correspondance hellénique. The flask is in the Cyprus Museum as CS 2226/61.
