The project
At Petraes, between Kalopsidha and Kouklia and about 300 metres from Kouklia, sherds from tombs that had already been looted were collected in 1967 and used to reconstruct six nearly identical bowls1. Karageorghis's annual chronicle of fieldwork for 1967 reports the recovery1. The bowls had black or red slip on the outside and linear painted decoration on the inside, and the notice assigns them to the class Åström called "composite ware"1. The figure caption identifies the illustrated bowl as Middle Cypriot1. The group is entered under registration no. 200 in the Famagusta District Museum, and the caption places the illustrated bowl in that museum1.
