The project
Road repair on the village road to Yialousa at Galinoporni exposed two Middle Bronze chamber tombs, which the Department of Antiquities excavated in 19561. One richly furnished tomb had a circular outer chamber entered by a stomion and a second entrance leading to a square inner chamber1. The inner chamber held a single burial; the outer chamber held a pile of 154 pots and bronze and other objects, which Megaw says had presumably been deposited during the removal of earlier burials1. The pottery was said to match that from other Middle Bronze tombs in the Carpass and included White Painted and Red-on-Black wares1.
