The project
In 1990 the Department of Antiquities excavated two tombs found during construction work at Agios Athanasios, part of an extensive necropolis, under Pavlos Flourentzos1. The tombs held multiple burials and White Painted V and plain white V pottery, which Steel dates to Cypro-Archaic II1. Reported finds included bronze and silver jewellery, a faience bead, one iron spearhead and an imported Athenian lekythos1. Flourentzos published the tombs, numbered 214 and 215, in the Department's Report for 19932.
