Alfred Friedrich von Dumreicher

Alfred Friedrich von Dumreicher was the Danish consul in Alexandria and in 1824 donated several late Cypriot Base-ring jugs to the Royal Kunstkammer in Copenhagen (inventory number A.A.c. 10) which later was transferred to the National Museum of Denmark.

This is particularly interesting as it predates the Cesnola and other expeditions by many decades. These were likely not found in Cyprus and represent some of the very earliest Cypriot archeological finds to make their way into museums.

Not much else is known about the Alfred Friedrich von Dumreicher collection or what other Cypriot pieces might have been.
