Bichrome Oinochoe
Description: | Pottery oinochoe or jug in Bichrome ware; ovoid body on a slightly splaying ring base; narrow, concave neck with a trefoil spout; thick strap handle (possibly double-ribbed originally) from shoulder to rim, now missing except for the stump of the base: cream-buff clay and slip, decorated in black and red-brown paint with some incised detail: the body and neck of the vase are divided into registers with narrow bands filled with floral decoration, two large friezes of lotus flowers on the shoulder and lower part of the body, between which is a row of vine tendrils; small flowers with many petals or solar bursts around on the neck; a prominent pair of eyes on the mouth; the underside of base is also painted.
