Limestone Votary Statue

Limestone statue of a man wearing a pointed helmet or cap and a 'Cypriot belt' or loin cloth (hose), probably a votary; carved; he stands frontally, the left leg slightly forward; his arms hang by the sides, the hands are clenched; the knees are shown as deep oval incisions; his costume consists of a loin cloth with what looks like an overfold, or else a more tailored set of pant; oval face with flattened eyes and deep ear sockets; the mouth is shown with a passive expression; nose broken; the hair falls in a mass below the back of the cap; at the; the statue stands on an integral base; apart from the damaged nose, there are breaks and scratches on the body.
