Bearded Warrior Figurine
Description: | Head of a terracotta figurine of a bearded male warrior wearing a cap with side flaps. Hollow, mould-made. He has a thick short curly beard painted black; the lower end is broken away but enough survives to sugegst it was pointed. His eyebrows are 'feathered' (i.e. incised) and painted black; the face has been painted red; the conical cap or helmet is decorated all over with close spirals to indicate patterns cut in leather, the front part is depressed and has maeander borders incised and painted red down the sides and along the forehead; at the peak is a piece projecting and falling behind with a moulded ring around it.
