Arsenical Copper Open Lamp

Arsenical copper open lamp; cast flat and raised by hammering; narrow flat handle, rectangular in section with rounded end; handle widens towards body; body roughly square with tapering rounded base; square shoulders either side of handle edge; one side edge concave, one open; front edge, opposite handle, pinched to form wick-rest; this is the only lamp of this type known. The composition of the metal is 97.5% copper; 0.15% lead; 0.3% tin; 1.0% arsenic.
