Description: | Terracotta female figurine holding infant; Base Ring II ware; hand-made; hollow construction; originally two double pierced ears with hanging circular ear-rings, ear-rings not preserved; beak-shaped nose and applied pellets for eyes; small head with elongated neck widening to broad, flattened oval hips and tapering to small feet; arms sticking out at angle to body and hands clasping the infant to her chest; the infant is placed obliquely across the female, with its head at her left shoulder and its left arm at her right shoulder; incised detail of horizontal bands around neck and torso, strokes and chevrons on pubic triangle and fingers delineated; hole pierced between legs for vulva.
