Description: | Pottery gourd juglet of Red Polished III ware; hand-made; wide everted rim and cylindrical neck; vertical strap handle from rim to shoulder; globular body with pointed lug on side opposite handle; rounded base; highly lustrous burnished red slip; decorated with incised geometric lines infilled with white lime paste; four sets of four vertical lines on rim, leading to quadruple zig-zag down handle; on neck, quadruple horizontal bands frame a band of horizontal zig-zags; on body, quadruple horizontal bands frame vertical and horizontal hatched lozenges, horizontal herringbone patterns, vertical hatched bands and four sets of three concentric circles, one of which frames the pointed lug; fabric reddish brown; small chip at rim.
