Red Polished Incised Jug

Jug in Red Polished III Ware; hand-made; globular body on a squat rounded bottom; tall narrow tapering neck with funnel rim; single strap handle from mid-neck to shoulder opposite an angular string hole set vertically, below which is a further, horizontal rectangluar stringhole projection set diagonally; dark buff clay with a dark red polished slip; decorated with incised horizontal bands and vertical bands of alternating zig-zags and chevrons; slip worn in places.
